Ouch my ears

Terrible volume control. Never use earbuds because the Avaya ringing will play 10x louder than anything else on your phone and blast your eardrums out. Can not understand how such a popular app has such terrible volume control. Would give zero stars if I could.

Terrible service

Calls are broken and sometimes missed. Sometimes get errors trying to make calls and voicemail works sometimes and then it doesn’t

Constant Problems

Avaya really needs to fix this app because it’s terrible. We need this to work but the effort to keep it working seems futile. Today it’s “Phone Push Service Currently Unavailable.”

This app is garbage

The Worst App EVER

I have had multiple technical issues with the app. I sign it it works fine for one call, then I get the red triangle. I sign out restart, delete, and download-nothing makes it better. It is a huge problem because I need to be able to take work calls and I do not want to use my personal cellphone number when I am working away from my office. I didn’t have any problems prior to this September.

Avaya does not work well with Apple products

App does not work. Does not allow me to make a call, says call failed. Avaya does not work well on IOS or MAC OS systems. Works fine on a window laptop but never works on my MacBook or my iPhone. I really dislike this. I see all the negative comments and I’m wondering are yall gonna do anything to fix the app or just apologize to people and never fix anything?

Why are you not addressing the phone not ringing?

-79 stars. You hire a sales force to scheme corporations to sign a contract with your organization and then when their employees can’t receive calls with your service (which are dire to their livelihood) you don’t even say “hey we know this is one of the worst things to happen to your career, our bad, big apologies. We will fix it in 5 days” it’s like you don’t even know this is happening. I’m about to go back to college and change to a new industry if I have to use this Avaya nonsense. FIX IT!!

Eh

It’s okay. Glad I can use it to work from home, transfer calls but it is unreliable. Constantly have to login or out or even delete and reinstall to get it to work. Bummer you can’t set quiet hours.

Awful

Horrible connection quality. Calls come in delayed. Had to move to the app because the hard phone was even worse. Transfers are awkward and choppy. Not intuitive at all. Hate Avaya and this horrible app

Worst App

This is the most unreliable ridiculous app I have ever HAD to use. I have to use this for remote working. It disconnects calls, it won’t let you answer calls and worst you will go an hour without a call then realize you have to delete and reinstall because it’s GARBAGE

Great concept, poor performance

Calls do not come through when iPhone is locked or app is running in the background. It worked properly when I first started using, then came the app update and it no longer worked. Coworkers who use Androids do not experience this problem. This has been a known issue for some time. Why hasn’t it been corrected so this app functions in iOS as intended? Are there any plans to correct this issue?

Different from desktop and Android app

Functions avail for iPhone are significantly limited compared to those using an Android or desktop app. This is frustrating when teaching new team members to use this.

Not running in background

I LOVE Avaya but not this app. We use this in a hospital setting and only on Apple iOS does the app not work in the background or when device screen is off. No one seems to care that the ED doctors can’t get calls.

Worthless

Title says it all. The app doesn’t notify there is an incoming call unless the phone is unlocked, awake, and the app is on the foreground which makes it worthless.

Still doesn’t work in the background

I was very hopeful that after 3 years of bad reviews that maybe Avaya would have fixed this issue. I like the idea of taking my desk phone with me and being more mobile in the department, but as soon as the phone goes dark, so does the app. I have to have the app open and the screen on in order to be able to take a call which really defeats the purpose. And please don’t respond telling me to reach out to customer service because I have, and they have no idea what to do to fix the issue!

Users can't login

I installed the app and ran auto configuration from a web address. Configuration settings look correct. However, when actually logging into the app, the Extension field is completely greyed out, the password field allows data to be entered, and connect button stays greyed out as well. Even when I tried to add something into the Extension field using autofill, I can see the extension in light grey font, but connect button is not clickable.

Android versus iPhone

Using this application on an iPhone seems to give me issues when changes are made to my profile, such as a number change. I have no issues on an Android. It seems that iOS holds on to old data. I delete the application, turn the phone off, add the application back and reset and still not working with my new number. I have even tried resetting the iPhone itself.

When it works

The app is good when it works. We deploy the app to many staff and we frequently have issues with the app not ringing or showing incoming calls when the app is not actually opened. Frequently have to have staff delete and reconfigure the app. I’ve read the same comments from android users and iPhone users.

Well it wassss working!

Downloaded the app, since I’m hard of hearing on the desktop app. Was able to receive calls at first on here and then randomly stopped working. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled, still does not receive notifications that anyone has called my work phone. 🙄

Can’t run in the background!

I see all of the comments saying that the app won’t work in the background, and YES I did try to contact your support team through the app and the website already. Calls don’t come through when I am using another app or the device is asleep. I see reviews from two years ago with this issue. Otherwise it’s a fine app, but this is a major problem when I can’t use my personal phone when I’m on call for work.

Missing key functionality

Can’t receive incoming calls unless the phone is unlocked with the app open and on-screen — which it looks like has been the main complaint for years.

Does not work on IPhone

Unable to receive calls using Avaya Workplace on an iPhone. If you work remotely this app is useless on an iPhone. You are able to place our going calls but will not alert you for incoming calls. App does work on Apple computer.

App stürzt oft ab, Anrufe werden nicht angezeigt es sei denn man ist aktiv in der App. Leider kann man damit nicht arbeiten! Macht die App quasi nutzlos. Einen Stern, da die App wenn sie funktion vom UI ganz gut ist.

Good for looking up peer extensions, not for calls

Calls don’t ring through unless the app is active on iPhone. Incoming and outgoing calls are unstable with fluctuating call quality and frequent dropped calls. Don’t use the app for important calls where quality & reliability are important.

App doesn’t work in background

I don’t get incoming calls unless app is in the forefront. This is very annoying. I primarily work from home and I’m not receiving any of my calls. I just get voicemail and missed call notifications. App never rings me.

Great idea to work remotely but terrible connectivity

My customers complain daily that I a breaking up and they can’t hear me or understand me. I have talked to our (Allstate Support Team) and I have been told if my computer is not hard wired into the modem I will continue to experience this issue. The modem is on the other side of the building and I can not make this happen. Also you can never stop the app or log off. The app will continue to feed calls to you no matter if you are logged out or the app is closed. The only solution is to delete the app so I am constantly deleting the app and setting up again. It’s terrible and stay far way from this technology!

Here we go again

Every time there is an iOS update, the phone app doesn’t work in the background, although background app refresh is on. Can SOMEONE at Avaya please be up-to-date on releases (which do and can have security implications, so saying not to update isn’t really an option) and figure out how to make the app work for a change? It is nice when it works. My co workers and customers are happy to be able to get in touch when that is the case, and are as frustrated as I am when it doesn’t. The latter seems to be much more the norm, unfortunately.

Absolute Trash. Good Luck and Avaya Support is just as bad as the app is ugly. I can’t believe it went to market. Yikes.

Stop with calls already if app closes out completely

Create an update where we can go back to completely closing out the app and and no calls will come through so we can make the choice if we want to have calls regardless if we are signed in or not. Need to do better to keep work/life balance.

Not IOS 16 Friendly

If you’re on IOS 15.x it’ll probably work but for IOS 16 it won’t receive calls, only outgoing.

Broken again

Please fix it! I got to leave the app open to receive calls. Why does this happen on every update!

Can’t log out

I want to login every once in a while from my phone but log out when I don’t want my cell phone to receive calls. I hit log out and force close the app. The next call that comes in still comes in on my cell. When I open my Avaya app it’s back logged in again! Why? Why can’t I log out and log in when I want? This is a super easy thing that I don’t understand why Avaya makes so difficult.

update to 3.29 killed notifications for ios users AGAIN

one apple devices, does not ring unless the app is open and screen is awake. push notifications are turned on and it still doesn’t ring. please fix. again.

App not ringing

The app is not working if I don’t have the app open and the phone unlocked. This just started happening today. Any idea what’s going on?

Difficult to set up. Very unstable, minimal features. Cannot use, uninstalled.

Huge pain to set up. Feature set is very limited compared to competitors. Not reliable. PC and android versions also full of problems. Can only use on one device at time, the active device changes without warning. Very minimal features. Avoid, do not use, cannot be trusted to work when needed.

Can’t Stop Calls When on Vacation

It used to be that if I didn’t want to get calls I could just close the app. Sometime ago to that changed and I’ve hated it. I’m on vacation and I keep getting my calls. I’ve tried changing several setting to no avail. Set on do not disturb, turned off notifications, logging out. None of these stopped the calls. I don’t want to have to uninstall the app every time I’m off the clock.

App doesn’t keep you logged in

Your app won’t keep you logged in so there’s no way to know if a call is coming in, unless you have the desktop version running as well. When the desktop version rings you have to open the app, it activates, then you can answer it. Defeats the purpose of the app…

Great for not taking calls.

Great app if you want to miss calls. Incoming calls never ring, no notifications, and most of the time the missed calls show up hours later. Outgoing calls work sometimes. It worked okay in 2021. *Notifications are enabled. iPhone12 and Avaya app are always on the newest versions.

App does not work properly

I have used this app for more than six months but now it hardly works at all. You took an average app and made it non functional. This needs immediate action.

Newest update not working!!

Please roll the update back! This update is not working with the current iPhone version. It has rendered the application useless for our corporation. Calls are no longer coming through and outgoing calls are sporadic. Please provide assistance to corporate users.

No longer rings for incoming calls

Same problem as everyone else since the last update. Incoming calls will not ring unless the app is currently open. Makes the app pointless if you need to use it for incoming calls

Avaya Workplace

App no longer notify you of calls while in the background. I’m looking into turning on apple notifications on my Avaya System Manager 8.3 but I’m slow to do this not knowing if I will break something else.

Disruption in Service!!! 1 star.

With the new release the app only rings properly when the phone user is live on the application. Switching to other applications disrupts the app’s ability to ring through. It also now won’t ring through when my phone is locked. This completely defeats the purpose of utilizing this app for our many employees who work from home, and those who are on call overnight. Please go back and restore the ability to ring through no matter what so our employees can get the assistance they need. This app was once the lifeline of our company, and this downgrade has affected our ability to do our job successfully.
